Homes we’ve designed
and renovated.

Every home comes with a different set of problems to solve. Sometimes it’s the layout. Sometimes it’s storage, lighting or simply making the rooms feel better together.

Design and renovation, under one team.

From a better layout
to the finished home.

You might be starting with a completely empty unit, or fixing a home you’ve lived in for years. Either way, we can take care of the design and renovation together — whether that means the whole home or just one room that isn’t working anymore.

We mainly work on residential interiors, creating contemporary homes that look considered without forgetting what they’re like to live in every day.

01

Luxury interior design

Before we think about finishes, we look at how you actually live. Where do you spend most of your time? What needs more storage? What feels awkward now? From there, we develop the layout, carpentry, materials and lighting around your day-to-day life.

Design & renovation

The people who design your home stay involved when it reaches site. So the drawings, materials and renovation work aren’t treated as separate jobs — they’re all part of the same plan.

03

Renovation & upgrades

Sometimes the whole home doesn’t need renovating. Maybe it’s the kitchen, the bathroom or a few spaces that have stopped working for you. We can focus the budget and work where it will make the biggest difference.

Making room for change

Renovation that starts
with your home.

You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out. Maybe you already have a list of changes in mind, or maybe the home just doesn’t feel right anymore. We’ll help you work out what needs attention, what can stay and how much renovation is actually necessary.

Condo renovation

Condo renovations come with a few extra rules to work around. While we’re thinking about the layout and storage, we also account for management approvals, working hours, lift bookings and access so those details don’t become surprises later.

Terrace house renovation

Older terrace houses often have a few surprises hiding behind the finishes. Wiring, plumbing or roofing may need attention before the prettier parts of the renovation begin, and some homes may also benefit from changing or extending the existing layout.

Bungalow renovation

A bigger home gives you more room to work with, but also more decisions to make. We look at which spaces your family genuinely uses, how the rooms connect and where changes to the layout, kitchen or storage would make everyday life easier.

Semi-D renovation

Renovating a Semi-D doesn’t have to mean rebuilding everything. Some rooms may already work perfectly well. We can focus on the areas that need attention now and leave the rest alone.

01

Kitchen renovation

A good kitchen starts with how you actually use it. What stays on the counter? What do you reach for every day? Do two people cook at the same time? We use those little details to plan the cabinetry, worktops and storage around the way you cook.

02

Bathroom renovation

A beautiful bathroom isn’t much use if the practical details underneath it are wrong. So while we’re choosing tiles and fittings, we’re also thinking about plumbing, waterproofing, drainage and ventilation.

Meet the team behind your home

My Reno Service.
By Roomah Builders.

Good design is easier to build when the people drawing it and the people building it are working together. That’s how My Reno Service works. We’re operated by Roomah Builders, bringing interior design and renovation together under one team.

While we’re developing the layout, carpentry and finishes, we’re also thinking about what needs to happen behind them — electrical points, plumbing, waterproofing, tiling and all the details that eventually have to work on site.

And when the project moves into renovation, the design team doesn’t disappear. We stay involved, which means questions on site can be dealt with by the people who already understand why the original decisions were made.

From first conversation to handover

How we work.

We don’t start by drawing. We start by listening. Tell us what frustrates you about the home now, what you’d love to change and what you’re comfortable spending. That gives us a much better place to begin.

  1. 01 / Understand

    Your home, your brief

Show us the home and tell us what’s on your mind. A few photos, a floor plan if you have one, your rough budget and when you’re hoping to start are more than enough for the first conversation.

  2. 02 / Design

    Work through the details

Once we understand the brief, we work through the layout first. Then we get into the details — storage, carpentry, materials, lighting and all the smaller decisions that make the home feel complete.

  3. 03 / Build

    Take it to site

When the design, quotation and timeline are agreed, the project moves to site. We coordinate the renovation from the first day of work through to the final handover.

At home in the Klang Valley

Renovation across
the Klang Valley.

A Mont Kiara condo needs a different approach from a family home in Petaling Jaya. Wherever you’re based, we start with the home in front of us — how it’s built, how you use it and what you want to change.

Planning your budget

What affects your
renovation budget?

The size of your home only tells us so much. Two homes with exactly the same floor area can end up with very different renovation budgets depending on their condition, how much you want to change and the materials or built-ins you choose.

Property & space
The size and condition of your home affect how much work needs to be done. Access and building rules also affect how we schedule and carry it out.
Wet works
Removing old finishes and repairing the areas beneath them can quickly become a big part of the budget, especially where plumbing or waterproofing needs attention.
Built-ins
How much custom storage you need, and how it is made, will influence the price. Kitchen cabinets and wardrobes are often a good place to set priorities.
Finishes
Surface materials, fittings and lighting offer room to adjust spending. You can spend more where it matters to you and keep other areas simpler.

Before you request a quote

Begin with what you want to change.

You don’t need drawings, moodboards or a perfectly organised brief before getting in touch. A few photos, a floor plan or rough measurements and a simple explanation of what you’d like to change are enough to start.

The clearer we are about what needs to be done, the more useful the quotation will be. It should account for the work you can see — such as cabinetry and finishes — as well as the work behind them, including hacking, plumbing, electrical and waterproofing.

Our renovation quotation guide explains what to prepare before discussing your project.

Finding the right team

Choosing a renovation contractor?
Compare what’s actually included.

It’s tempting to compare renovation quotes by looking at the number at the bottom. But first, check whether they’re actually quoting for the same work. A cheaper quote may simply leave out things that another contractor has included.

01

Compare the same work

Don’t look at the final number alone. Check what’s included for labour, materials, hacking, wet works and carpentry. If something isn’t clear, ask. You want to know what you’re paying for before the work starts.

02

Ask about what you can’t see

Some of the most important work will eventually disappear behind tiles, walls and cabinets. Ask how the contractor plans to handle plumbing, electrical work, waterproofing and, for condos, management requirements.

03

Decide where the money matters

Get the essential work right first. After that, you can decide where you genuinely want to spend more — perhaps on better kitchen hardware, stone surfaces, lighting or custom carpentry — and where a simpler option works just as well.

Before we begin

A few common questions.

How much does renovation cost in Malaysia?

There isn’t one useful price that fits every home. A basic update to a condo is very different from renovating an older landed house with new wiring, plumbing or major layout changes. Your property size, its existing condition, how much carpentry you need and the materials you choose all affect the final cost. Tell us your rough budget and what you want to change, and we can help you work out what may be realistic.

How do I choose a renovation contractor in Malaysia?

Look for a team that takes time to understand your home and explains what their quotation includes. You should be able to see how labour, materials, wet works and built-in carpentry are priced, what isn’t included, and how long the work is expected to take.

Do renovation costs differ between condos and landed houses?

Yes. In a condo, management rules and access arrangements can affect how the work is carried out. A landed home may need attention to the roof or exterior, or involve an extension. The condition of the home and the changes you have in mind matter as much as its size.

Can I request quotes for kitchen or bathroom renovation?

Yes. You can come to us for a kitchen or bathroom on its own. Tell us what is working, what needs attention and what you would like to change. Details such as cabinetry for a kitchen or waterproofing for a bathroom will help us understand what the job actually needs.

Who is behind My Reno Service?

My Reno Service is the renovation brand operated by Roomah Builders, a CIDB-certified renovation contractor based in Petaling Jaya. The same team handles planning and renovation through handover.

Do you still take on renovation projects without interior design?

Yes. Not every project needs a full interior design package. If you simply want to redo a kitchen, bathroom or a few areas of the home, tell us what you have in mind and we can work out how much planning the job actually needs before renovation starts.

Which areas do you cover?

We mainly work across Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and the wider Klang Valley. Send us your location and a little information about the property, and we can let you know whether the project is within our coverage area.

What would you like to change about your home?

Tell us about your home, what you’d like to change and roughly what you’re comfortable spending. We’ll help you figure out what makes sense, what the renovation could involve and where to start.

Let’s discuss your project
