About My Reno Service

About Us

My Reno Service is the renovation planning and delivery brand operated by Roomah Builders, a CIDB-certified renovation contractor. We help homeowners think through how their space should look, feel and work day to day, then turn those ideas into a renovation that can actually be built.

Why We Exist

Renovation Planning Can Feel Messy Before It Even Starts

A lot of homeowners begin with the same problem: they know they want to renovate, but they do not know what the work should cost, what details to prepare, or whether the contractor they hire can actually deliver what was promised.

My Reno Service was created to close that gap. We help homeowners work out what they really need from the space first — whether that means a better kitchen layout, more useful storage, improved lighting or simply making an older home feel more comfortable — then plan the budget and scope around those priorities. The same team then carries out the renovation, from hacking and waterproofing through to carpentry and finishing.

The goal is not to overwhelm people with jargon. It is to give homeowners a clear budget, a realistic timeline and a contractor who is accountable for the finished result.

Our Positioning

A Design and Build Team Homeowners Can Work With

Most of what we take on is contemporary residential renovation — condos, terraces, semi-Ds and bungalows being brought up to a cleaner, more current standard of living. My Reno Service helps homeowners bring the design and build sides of that kind of project together, rather than splitting it between a separate designer and a separate contractor. We look at how the home needs to function, the style the homeowner is drawn to — often something modern and minimalist, though not always — the practical constraints of the property and what the budget can realistically support before work begins.

What we help with

  • Scoping and pricing your renovation realistically from the first conversation.
  • Planning kitchens, bathrooms, condos and full home renovations from design through handover.
  • Coordinating hacking, waterproofing, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and finishing as one project.
  • Giving you a single point of contact instead of juggling separate designers and contractors.
  • Turning ideas, references and preferred styles into practical layouts, material choices and renovation scope.
  • Planning storage, lighting, carpentry and room flow around the way the household actually uses the space.

How we work

  • We start with practical questions, not vague renovation promises.
  • We explain what drives cost instead of quoting one fixed number too early.
  • We plan around Malaysian homes, budgets and property types we actually build in.
  • We treat renovation as a delivery process, not just a design exercise.
  • We design around real routines and real dimensions, not just what looks good in a render.
  • We check design ideas against site conditions, construction requirements and budget before asking homeowners to commit.
How We Think

How We Think About Renovation Planning

Good renovation decisions usually start before anyone talks about finishes. Homeowners need to understand the scope, budget, constraints and trade-offs first — then decide what is worth doing now, later or not at all.

Clarity before commitment

Homeowners should understand the likely scope and budget direction before committing to a renovation path.

Practical over polished

Good renovation advice should help someone make a decision, not just describe beautiful design ideas.

Local context matters

Malaysia homes have different layouts, budgets and renovation concerns from generic international examples.

No unnecessary jargon

Renovation topics should be explained in plain language so first-time renovators can follow the process.

Why Homeowners Trust Us

Grounded Renovation Guidance From the Team Doing the Work

What homeowners tend to come back for is the same three things: execution, value and reliability. Our planning content is built around the questions homeowners ask before they renovate: what affects cost, what details should be prepared, how scope changes the quotation and which trade-offs matter most — written by the same team that carries out the build.

Consistent execution

The same team that plans the layout carries it through — from hacking and waterproofing to carpentry and finishing — so the finished result matches what was actually agreed, not a scaled-down version of it.

Clear cost, real value

Instead of treating renovation prices as fixed numbers, we explain the factors that change budgets, such as materials, layout changes, hacking, plumbing, electrical work and site conditions.

Local renovation context

We focus on Malaysian property types, cost ranges, room layouts and planning issues, including condos, apartments, terrace houses, kitchens and bathrooms.

Our standard is simple: quote realistically, explain what drives cost, and be the same contractor on site from hacking through handover — not a middleman between you and the crew doing the work.

Interior Design

Interior Design That Works With the Build

For us, interior design is less about decorating a room and more about making the whole space work together. We look at how you move through the home, where things naturally need to be stored, how lighting changes the feel of a room, which finishes suit everyday use and how all of those choices affect the renovation work behind them.

Space Planning

We plan layouts around how people actually use the home — cooking, getting ready, working, hosting, storing things and moving comfortably from one area to another.

Materials & Finishes

We help narrow down colours, surfaces and finishes based on the look you like, how the space is used and how much maintenance you are comfortable with over time.

Carpentry & Storage

Built-ins are planned around real belongings and routines, so storage feels like part of the room rather than something added wherever there is leftover space.

Design-to-Build Coordination

Before work starts, we check design decisions against site dimensions, electrical and plumbing requirements, construction sequencing and budget so there are fewer surprises later.

You do not need to arrive with a fully formed design concept either. Some homeowners come to us with a folder of references and a clear style in mind; others only know what is not working in their current home. Both are perfectly normal starting points. Our job is to help turn those preferences into practical decisions that make sense for the property and the budget.
